Flowers:\u00a0<\/strong>The flowers each have five rounded petals that\u00a0grow in dense clusters atop a tall stems up to 4 feet tall. Each flower is about an inch in diameter and grow in a variety of colors including; pink, magenta, white, purple, violet, pale blue, or bright red.<\/p>\n

Care: <\/strong>Phlox is a hardy low maintenance perennial that loves to grow in the sun, but can tolerate partial shade. Plant them in well drained soil with plenty of room so air can circulate around them. Water enough to keep soil moist in the summer months, but avoid overwatering the leaves if they are growing in a humid or particularly shady area. Too much heat any humidity may\u00a0promote mildew on the foliage, leaves with the powdery mildew should be removed.<\/p>\n

Propagation:\u00a0<\/strong>Phlox can be grown from a cutting or by seed.<\/p>\n

Toxicity:<\/strong> Foliage is food for larvae, deer, groundhogs, and rabbits. Ingesting the leaf or an extract made with the leaves, may act as a laxative.<\/p>\n
